A Google has revealed that apparently it was a skating rink before The Uppercut came into existence.

The Uppercut was a club owned by Billy Walker, wasn't it. Quite near the Lotus as I remember

:-) Some good songs there. The Uppercut? Wasn't that the skating rink, at Forest Gate? I used to go skating there. :-)

At the Uppercut HH? I was still living in the USA but returned to the UK in the October of 1964. Of course the British music invasion of the USA was well established by then, as started by the Beatles.

Tobacco Road. - Nashville Teens
One-hit wonders maybe, but that record could well have been one reason why the BEATles. Tobacco Road had beat from beginning to end.

Didn't know The Baron Knights had been around so long.I always associate them with a drunk party girl Aunty and Babycham for some odd reason.
